Royal Delft Tour & Workshop

The visit to the Delft Museum was a success!

We gathered in school in order to carpool with several of us. Then we were right on time for the workshop specially catered for us in English. Our teacher was a very nice local and she explained the process of tile making & painting. There were several stencils we could choose from, somewhere very difficult and others a lot easier. They had the materials ready for us and took exactly 1 hour to complete our work. The tiles then were collected and marked since we had to leave them so they could undergo the process of being in an oven for 2 weeks. After 2 weeks it will be available to pick up. In our case we chose to be sent to one of our addresses.

After the workshop we did the audio tour, available in English and how surprising it was to see that they had it also in Japanese. The tour finished by the Royal Delft store with amazing vases and a variety of items. Great timing right before December.

Afterwards, we even had time to have a tea or coffee & lunch by the cafeteria, where everything was served on their Royal Blue China. This was such a special touch that we felt pampered.

It was a fantastic day with no rain, and we got back right on time to pick up our kids from school. Our Workshop teacher mentioned that there is an open day in November where you can come and choose any workshop like on a plate or a vase without the limitation of time. Sounded like a great idea to do to whomever would be interested. There are also workshops for children. For more info you can visit their site: https://royaldelft.com/

We look forward to next year’s visit!
